Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic domain extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired 3rd-level domain names remained working.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific stipulations on who can grab a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
