A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you have a shared hosting with our company and you would like to enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
